I really don’t know where to begin. Everytime I am asked to
write an essay about myself I get stuck. So, let’s start with the basics, my
name is Sharna’ and I am a freshmen majoring in social work/nursing. I have one
older brother and two younger sisters. I chose Illinois State, because of the
large, but small feeling university this is. I plan to receive my bachelor’s degree in
social work first, and then I will go through the Accelerated Nursing Program
to receive a second bachelor’s degree in nursing. I plan on become a neonatal
practioner, because I love working/ being around babies.
I was born in Chicago
and raised in the south suburbs. I graduated from Thornridge High School as the
fifth rank in my class. I am a very hardworking, dedicated and outgoing person.
I currently have 2 jobs here at ISU, one at McAlister’s Deli and the other at
Burger King. I know your probably wondering,
“Why am I working so much?” but it’s
not really as bad as it sounds. I only have 2 shifts at Burger King and 3 at
McAlister’s. I am currently a member of BSU and researching on starting my own RSO.
Some things I enjoy doing is eating, being with my boyfriend and watching TV.
How do I feel about English? When it comes to writing, I don’t
think I am good at it at all. While writing I will continuously repeat myself
in different ways just to make sure I make the length. English is just a boring
subject to me, sorry Miss Ayla. When it comes to reading, I like to depending
on what the book is about. Hopefully this class can change my current feelings
about English. I also hope I can become a better and more confident writer by
the end of this semester.

I also work in the Bone! I work with ISU's catering in front of house. Sometimes we use the back of McAlister's kitchen to get to the Founder's suite. Maybe I'll see you around!
ReplyDeleteWhat got you interested in majoring in social work and nursing? I think that it is cool that you have 2 jobs here on campus, I am looking for just one and I don't even know where to start looking. I also think that i sit interesting that you are looking to start your own RSO. What kind of RSO are you looking to start?
ReplyDeleteIt's okay, we like what we like. Your work ethic and accomplishments are impressive. It isn't everyday I meet a college student with more than one job and planning to receive two different bachelor's degrees. Keep up the good work but remember to have a little fun while you are here too!
